Supreme Prosecutors' Office Vows Strict Response to Illegal Election Offenses
The Supreme Prosecutors' Office announced on the 9th that it will organize a 'Special Election Investigation Team' at prosecution offices nationwide in preparation for the 21st presidential election scheduled for June 3.
In a notice to the press on the same day, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office stated, "We will establish Special Election Investigation Teams at prosecution offices nationwide and implement phased emergency duty to thoroughly investigate election-related offenses." The office added, "This election involves party primaries, overseas voting, early voting, and the main voting all concentrated within a short period, raising concerns about overheated and corrupt elections. We will strictly respond to illegal election offenses."
The investigation team plans to focus on ▲violations of party primary campaign methods, ▲violations of prohibited regulations related to opinion polls, ▲publication of false information using various media such as SNS, ▲illegal election campaigning disguised as assemblies, and ▲election violence.
