11,360,000 KRW Donated for Disaster Victims and Swift Recovery
Voluntary Participation by Provincial Council Members and Secretariat Staff
The Jeonnam Provincial Council announced that it has donated a total of 11,360,000 KRW to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support disaster victims and facilitate swift recovery efforts following the large-scale wildfire that caused significant damage in the Gyeongbuk region on the 8th.
This donation was raised through the voluntary participation of Jeonnam Provincial Council members and secretariat staff, and will be used to provide relief supplies and support recovery projects for residents affected by the disaster.

Additionally, on the 1st, the Jeonnam Provincial Council visited the wildfire disaster memorial altar set up at the old Andong Station in Andong, Gyeongbuk, to offer condolences and convey deep sympathy to the bereaved families and local residents. Afterwards, they visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Council to encourage those working on recovery efforts at the site, and shared a moment of solidarity and cooperation between local councils.
Chairman Kim Taekyun stated, "I sincerely extend my heartfelt condolences to the residents of Gyeongbuk who are suffering from the massive wildfire, and I hope this donation will provide some support in restoring daily life." He added, "Based on the exchange and friendship that Jeonnam Provincial Council and Gyeongbuk Provincial Council have maintained for over a decade, we will continue to overcome national disasters and crises together through mutual growth and cooperation."
Meanwhile, since signing a mutual development agreement in 2015, Jeonnam Provincial Council and Gyeongbuk Provincial Council have continued annual exchanges. In 2020, they provided goods worth 15,000,000 KRW to support COVID-19 relief in Gyeongbuk, and in 2022, they donated 5,000,000 KRW to support wildfire victims in Uljin, Gyeongbuk, demonstrating ongoing cooperation.
