The main contents of the amended ordinance include ▲extension of free parking time ▲adjustment of the fee system to curb long-term parking ▲relaxation of qualifications for participating in public parking lot bids.
With the ordinance amendment, the free parking time at 14 paid on-street and off-street parking lots in the city will increase from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. This is to allow visitors to traditional markets and shopping districts to use parking lots more comfortably.
To curb long-term parking, some fees will also be raised. For the first 2 hours, the fee remains the same at 500 KRW per 30 minutes, but for parking exceeding 2 hours, the fee will increase to 2,000 KRW per 30 minutes. Additionally, the monthly regular parking permit fee will rise from 60,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW.
A city official said, "This parking fee revision is an inevitable measure to resolve the shortage of parking spaces and use them efficiently," adding, "We will reduce citizen inconvenience through continuous monitoring and system improvements."
