Jasaeng Medical Foundation announced on the 9th that it provided meals and daily necessities twice to residents of Andong-si, Gyeongbuk, who were affected by the large wildfire last month.
On the 27th of last month, the foundation visited the shelter set up at Gilan Middle School in Gilan-myeon, Andong-si, to provide meals and daily necessities. At that time, it was reported that there were about 100 evacuees and around 100 recovery personnel, including firefighters involved in wildfire suppression and restoration, at the shelter.
Then, on the 8th, the foundation additionally supported 300 bedding sets for evacuees at the Andong Gymnasium shelter. As the weather remains chilly with large temperature differences between early morning and night, this support aims to ensure the health and convenience of the evacuees.
Park Byung-mo, chairman of Jasaeng Medical Foundation, said, "We undertook this emergency support to share the pain of residents who lost their homes due to the sudden wildfire," and added, "We sincerely hope that the residents will return to a peaceful daily life as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, based on the management philosophy of 'Geuncheuljisim (矜恤之心, a heart that feels compassion and wishes to help those in need),' Jasaeng Medical Foundation is actively engaged in various social contribution activities and strives for coexistence with the local community. In particular, it has consistently carried out prompt relief activities during various disasters, such as providing goods and medical support to flood-affected areas in 2020, donations and herbal medicine support for the East Coast wildfire damage in 2022, and bedding set support for heavy rain damage areas in 2024.
