The Gwangju Nurses Association (President Ji Hyeryeon) announced on the 9th that it held the '1st Gwangju Metropolitan City Nurses Association Nursing Leader Volunteer Group Inauguration Ceremony'.

The Gwangju Nurses Association Nursing Leader Volunteer Group was launched this year with its first cohort, mainly consisting of current and former student council presidents from nursing colleges in Gwangju. The organization aims to contribute to the improvement of community health and welfare through the participation and activities of about 200 nursing students each year.

This inauguration ceremony marked the official start of activities for university student volunteers who will take the lead in solving community issues this year. About 90 nursing students from 12 universities in Gwangju were selected as members of the volunteer group.

The first part of the event included the national pledge, words of encouragement, greetings, a group photo, and the introduction of the management team. The second part featured an orientation and sharing of the annual activity plan for the Nursing Leader Volunteer Group.

Ji Hyeryeon, President of the Gwangju Nurses Association, said, "Each small action you take can become a great strength to someone and a driving force for changing the world. I hope you will grow into nursing leaders who have a positive impact on society, based on the knowledge and experience you gain during your university life."

Go Misook, Secretary General of the Gwangju Nurses Association, said, "Even though nursing students have a heavy academic workload, I am proud and impressed that so many have stepped up to volunteer. I hope you will grow beyond local service and become a global volunteer group."

Kang Gijung, Mayor of Gwangju, said, "With the sense of duty of nursing students, the Nursing Leader Volunteer Group taking its first steps this year will become another driving force in Gwangju's public medical innovation, which is opening a new horizon through public-private cooperation. I hope that the various experiences and valuable connections you gain through the volunteer group will become a great strength to you."

Park Beomjin, President of the Gwangju Nurses Association Nursing Leader Volunteer Group, stated, "As I take my first steps as a prospective nurse, I will remember that our small actions can create significant change, and I will take the lead in making a positive impact on the Gwangju community."
