This training was organized to proactively respond to the frequent occurrence of serious accidents at construction sites, such as the recent fire accident at a resort construction site in Gijang-gun and the fatal fall at the Pyeongtaek Hwayang District apartment construction site, and to strengthen employees' safety management capabilities.
The training focused on key topics including: △main contents of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act △case analysis of serious accident investigations △best practices for construction site safety inspections.
Shin Changho, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, stated, “Through this training, we were able to further solidify the foundation for improving the safety awareness of our executives and employees and for preventing serious accidents at construction sites,” and added, “As a public institution, BMC will continue to practice safety management that prioritizes safety as the highest value in order to fulfill our social responsibility.”
Since the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act in January 2022, BMC has established a dedicated organization directly under the CEO and newly formed the Safety and Health Management Committee, a safety and health deliberation and advisory body. In addition, by establishing and implementing a systematic safety and health management system (ISO 45001) and obtaining certifications such as Excellent Disaster Reduction Company, BMC is leading safety management and building a proactive response system.
