GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 9th that it will re-release the value-packed lunchbox 'Deungsim Donkatsu' (Pork Loin Cutlet).
Recently, as practical consumption has spread due to prolonged high inflation, a 'newtro' trend has been sweeping the distribution industry, where popular past products are reinterpreted and reintroduced. By re-releasing products whose taste and quality have already been verified, companies provide high customer satisfaction and evoke nostalgia and memories from those times, resulting in a strong response. Earlier in February, GS25's re-release of 'Crispy Gimbap' after 4 years surpassed 500,000 units in cumulative sales within just 3 weeks of launch.

Reflecting this trend, GS25 is revamping the value-packed lunchboxes that led the convenience store lunchbox boom as the 'Value-Packed Return Series.' The first product in the series is 'Value-Packed) Returned Deungsim Donkatsu,' originally launched in 2014 as the value-packed lunchbox 'Deungsim Donkatsu.' At that time, it established itself as the epitome of cost-effective lunchboxes with a thick boneless pork loin cutlet accompanied by a variety of side dishes such as spaghetti, sausage, and fried chicken, recording sales of 400,000 units within a month of release.
The re-released 'Value-Packed) Returned Deungsim Donkatsu' maintains the core composition from 11 years ago while upgrading quality and contents to suit recent customer tastes and consumption trends. The main dishes?pork loin cutlet, spaghetti, and fried chicken?are retained, and a total of seven side dishes including meatballs, rolled omelet, and stir-fried kimchi have been added to create a richer and more balanced meal. The price is 5,200 KRW. GS25 will offer a discount price of 4,700 KRW for this lunchbox for five days from the 9th to the 13th.
