"The Road to Andong Is Hope Itself"... Andong City Strives to Overcome Wildfire Damage and Attract Tourists Andong City, Gyeongbuk is making every effort to revitalize the local economy through tourism.

This year, major festivals such as the 'Andong Cherry Blossom Festival' and the 'Chajeonjanggun Nogukgongju Festival' were canceled due to the wildfires, delivering a direct blow to the local tourism industry. Fortunately, key attractions such as Hahoe Village, Bongjeongsa Temple, and Manhyujeong Pavilion have been preserved without damage, but local residents are still feeling the significant impact from the decrease in visitors.

In response, Andong City is introducing the concept of 'travel donation,' encouraging visitors to contribute to the community through tourism, and is making all-out efforts to restore tourism demand through public-private cooperation. The city is promoting the message that 'travel itself is a donation,' aiming to attract tourists and boost consumption at the same time.

The main features of the campaign are as follows: ▲ Doubling incentives for travel agencies that attract group tourists ▲ Discounts on Andong City Tour and tourist taxi services ▲ Operation of UNESCO World Heritage tour programs in connection with KTX ▲ Enhanced traditional liquor experience content ▲ Tourism promotion events in the Seoul metropolitan area ▲ Invitations for SNS influencers and media, among others.

An Andong City official stated, "Not only donations or volunteer work, but simply enjoying tourism in Andong is a way to support the city," adding, "Traveling to Andong goes beyond simple sightseeing and will serve as comfort and encouragement to local residents."

Through this campaign, the city aims not only to restore local tourism but also to enhance its brand value as a UNESCO World Heritage city.
