Selected for Seoul City's 'Integrated Care Support Center Pilot Project'
Providing Life-Oriented Care Services Through Public-Private Cooperation with Local Specialized Institutions
Operating 'Strong Care Rehabilitation Service' in Partnership with Seongdong Rehabilitation Clinic
Reducing Medical Expenses by Supporting Precise and Systematic Rehabilitation Treatment
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that it has been selected for Seoul City's 'Integrated Care Support Center Pilot Project' and will actively promote the 'Care SOS Specialized Project.'
The 'Care SOS Specialized Project' provides life-oriented care services such as meal support to underserved groups who have difficulty receiving support through existing care services, including those needing rehabilitation treatment and those at risk of malnutrition.
It focuses on enhancing operational effectiveness through public-private cooperation with specialized local institutions and expanding the integrated care network to provide high-quality customized services to beneficiaries.
A representative example is the 'Strong Care Rehabilitation Service.' In cooperation with 'Seongdong Rehabilitation Clinic,' Seoul's first municipal rehabilitation medical facility for the disabled, which is operated under consignment by Seongdong-gu, precise and systematic rehabilitation treatment is provided to residents registered with brain lesions, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and related conditions. It is expected to offer practical help to residents who have been unable to receive treatment due to financial burdens.
The 'Healthy Home Meal Kit' project, in collaboration with the 'Seongdong 50 Plus Center,' is also being promoted. This project provides convenient meals to residents who find it difficult to prepare meals alone, and by guiding cooking methods that allow adding ingredients according to the consumer's preference, it is expected to have a positive effect on improving dietary habits and nutritional support.
Seongdong-gu was finally selected last December in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Medical and Care Integrated Support Technology Support Pilot Project' competition. To enable the elderly to continue living in their communities and maintain a stable life, fragmented medical and welfare services are integrated and managed with a beneficiary-centered approach, providing necessary medical care services through linkage with various local providers.
In March of this year, an Integrated Care Officer was newly established to diversify care services further and accelerate the construction of the 'Seongdong-type Integrated Care Model.'
Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "'Care SOS Specialized Service' will lead to improved quality of care services by tightly building an integrated care network through cooperation with specialized local institutions. We will do our best to develop and support various care projects so that everyone can equally enjoy the benefits of medical and welfare services without any blind spots in care."
