Customized Guidance Including Orchard-Specific Environmental Analysis
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 9th that it will strengthen support for stable production in fruit farms.
This measure aims to respond to abnormal weather and the increasing damage from pests and diseases caused by climate change. To this end, the county is establishing an orchard-specific environmental analysis and early diagnosis and management system for pests and diseases, in order to boost productivity and minimize damage to farms.
A comprehensive analysis is being conducted on soil conditions, climate change, and growth status targeting orchard farms in Sancheong County.
Currently, Sancheong-gun is conducting comprehensive analyses of soil conditions, climate change, and growth status for major fruit farms. Based on these analyses, the county provides guidance and support for customized fertilization, moisture management, and cultivation method improvements for each farm, thereby promoting healthy orchard growth.
In particular, with the recent increase in new pest and disease outbreaks due to abnormal weather, an on-site pest and disease diagnosis and identification (classification) system is being operated to quickly identify problems at farms and provide appropriate control measures.
Additionally, the county is building a network for information sharing and technical support with fruit farmers, establishing a rapid response system for sudden pest and disease outbreaks, and offering continuous consulting to help ensure stable fruit production.
An official from Sancheong-gun stated, "We will continue our efforts to provide practical support for stable production in fruit farms through scientific analysis and systematic management systems."
