Yangsan Mayor Na Dongyeon Joins Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign Nadongyeon, Mayor of Yangsan, Participates in Child Abuse Prevention Relay Campaign.

This campaign, organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Center for the Rights of the Child, aims to raise awareness about child abuse and spread a culture of positive parenting that respects children as they are. Since May last year, the campaign has been conducted in a relay format, starting with the First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Various figures from all walks of life take photos with messages about 'positive parenting,' post them on social network services (SNS), and then nominate the next participant.

Mayor Na Dongyeon joined the campaign at the suggestion of Lee Sangdon, Director of Yangsan Pusan National University Hospital, and nominated Kim Jinok, Chief of Yangsan Fire Station, and Choi Eunji, Superintendent of Yangsan Office of Education, as the next participants.

This year, Yangsan City is especially strengthening its response system to identify and support children in need of protection. Efforts include expanding information sharing among related organizations for early detection of child abuse, enhancing public education and campaigns to improve awareness of child abuse, and increasing support for related protection facilities to help abused children recover physically and mentally as quickly as possible.

Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "I hope the culture of positive parenting, where every child is respected as an independent individual and can grow up to be a happy adult, will become widespread," and added, "We will continue to do our best to make Yangsan a child-friendly city where children can be happy."
