Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it is recruiting lifelong learning clubs to strengthen residents' learning capabilities, support personal growth through learning, promote a culture of sharing, and encourage self-directed educational activities.
A lifelong learning club is defined as a group that pursues clear objectives of 'learning and discussion on a set topic,' rather than simply being a social or friendship gathering. These clubs hold regular meetings at least once a month, and members can engage in self-development and talent-sharing activities.
The support amount is around 1 million KRW per team, which can be used for instructor fees, textbooks, and material costs. Any club consisting of at least eight adult or family learners who are residents of Damyang-gun can apply until the 18th. For more details, refer to the Lifelong Learning Information section on the Damyang-gun Office website or contact the Damyang-gun Humanities Education Team.
An official from the county said, "Through the lifelong learning club support project, we hope to meet the learning needs of residents and spread a vibrant culture of learning communities filled with joy."
