Tando is the only inhabited island in Muan County, currently home to about 40 residents. Four projects are underway to establish resident convenience and tourism infrastructure, including the "Comprehensive Island Development Project" and the "Island Beautification Project."

On this day, the councilors began with a briefing from the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, then toured the pier, visitor center, forest experience center, and exploration deck to review the progress and discuss possible improvements.

After touring the sites, the councilors urged for efficient project execution in line with project goals and emphasized the importance of developing sustainable content to ensure stable facility operation and a steady influx of visitors.

Additionally, they requested reinforcement of certain safety facilities, such as accommodations and trails, to prevent inconvenience for tourists visiting the island, and called for sufficient gathering of residents' opinions from the planning stage of each project.

During the subsequent meeting with residents, concerns and difficulties were heard, and opinions were shared on future improvements, including strengthening support for medical and cultural services, enhancing the landscape, and responding to coastal erosion.

Kim Bongseong stated, "Through this visit, several strategies to maximize Tando's development potential were suggested," adding, "We will make greater efforts to devise effective policies so that Tando can become an attractive hotspot based on its unique ecological value."
