A Total of 240 Million KRW Invested to Build a Startup Ecosystem
Sun Moon University announced on the 8th that it has been selected for the Industry-Academia Cooperation Specialized Competency BI (Business Incubator) Development Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
With this selection, the university's startup incubation center will receive a total of 160 million KRW in support until 2026. Including national funding and matching funds, more than 240 million KRW will be invested to accelerate the establishment of startup infrastructure and the creation of a startup ecosystem based on industry-academia cooperation.
The university plans to operate customized programs focusing on the main industrial sectors of Chungnam and Asan City, such as automotive parts and semiconductors.
In addition, practical entrepreneurship training will be provided for faculty and students, and efforts will be concentrated on resolving technical and managerial challenges through industry-academia connections.
Kim Jongsoo, head of the Startup Support Group, said, "Through this BI development project selection, we will leap forward as a hub university for the regional startup ecosystem," and added, "We will actively strive to contribute to the growth of startup companies and the revitalization of the local economy."
