Discussion on Improving Vulnerable Areas to Corruption and Practical Strategies
Superintendent's Award Presented to Five Integrity Contributors
Gwangju Office of Education has taken steps to improve areas vulnerable to corruption and to spread a culture of integrity.
On the 8th, the Gwangju Office of Education held the '2025 1st Integrity Policy Promotion Committee Meeting' in the main office situation room. The meeting was convened to discuss ways to improve sectors susceptible to corruption and to establish practical integrity strategies.
Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education held the "2025 1st Integrity Policy Promotion Team Meeting" on the 8th at the main office situation room to discuss improvement plans for corruption-prone areas. The meeting was led by Superintendent Lee Jeongseon and attended by Vice Superintendent Choi Seungbok, Gwangju East Education Director Lee Myeongsuk, Gwangju West Education Director Lee Seongcheol, Director Kim Jingu of the Citizens' Cooperation Promotion Institute, and 23 others. The meeting shared the '2025 Comprehensive Plan for Improving Integrity,' which was established based on the results of consulting by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission and both internal and external opinions. To enhance execution, the office plans to hold the Integrity Policy Promotion Committee meeting every quarter and regularly monitor the implementation of detailed tasks.
Earlier, in the same venue, a commendation ceremony was held to award the Superintendent's Award to those who made significant contributions to anti-corruption and integrity efforts. The awardees are five employees who led integrity policies at institutions recognized as excellent in integrity efforts last year.
The recipients are Jeon Insook, an officer at the Gwangju Office of Education Marine Training Center; Kim Yunyoung, an officer at the Gwangju Eastern Education Support Office; Kim Donghan, an officer at the Education Research Information Center (currently at Jobong Elementary School); Ha Juhui, an officer at the Kumho Lifelong Education Center (currently at the Organization Welfare Division); and Han Usik, an officer at the Creative Convergence Education Center (currently at the Audit Office).
Superintendent Lee stated, "Integrity is a core value that determines the trust in educational administration," and added, "We will do our utmost to achieve integrity in Gwangju education, centering on the Integrity Policy Promotion Committee."
