Hampyeong County, South Jeolla Province, announced on the 8th that County Governor Lee Sangik has participated in the relay challenge for mayors and county governors to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 National Sports Festival for All, which is organized by South Jeolla Province.
After joining the relay challenge for the successful hosting of the 2025 National Sports Festival for All, Governor Lee nominated Muan County Governor Kim San and Gwangyang City Mayor Jung Inhwa as the next participants.
The challenge was created to raise public interest in the event and encourage participation, and is being conducted in regions within South Jeolla Province where the games will be held. The 2025 National Sports Festival for All will take place over four days, from the 24th to the 27th, at 57 venues across 20 cities and counties in South Jeolla. It is the largest sports-for-all event in Korea, with approximately 20,000 athletes and officials from 17 cities and provinces nationwide participating. In Hampyeong County, tennis matches will be held at the Guryong Tennis Court in Hampyeong-eup, with about 400 athletes and officials expected to visit.
To ensure the successful hosting of the event, the county plans to operate a comprehensive situation room during the festival to promptly address any inconveniences experienced by athletes and visitors. In addition, the county will promote the 27th Hampyeong Butterfly Festival, which will be held during the event, offering various performances and hands-on activities for athletes and visitors.
Governor Lee said, "I hope that all athletes and supporters visiting Hampyeong will create wonderful memories here," adding, "We will do our best to ensure the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival for All."
