"Again After 10 Months"... KFC Raises Chicken and Burger Prices by Up to 300 Won

KFC announced on the 8th that it has raised the prices of some menu items, including chicken and burgers, by 100 to 300 won.


Through a notice on its website, KFC explained, "Due to the increase in raw material prices and overall costs, it was unavoidable to adjust the prices of some menu items starting today."

Following the price adjustment, the prices of KFC's signature menu items, Hot Crispy Chicken and Original Chicken, will increase by 300 won for a 3-piece serving. However, the prices of the Zinger Burger and Zinger Burger set will remain unchanged.


This price increase is KFC's first in 10 months since June of last year. At that time, KFC also raised prices of some menu items by 100 to 300 won due to rising raw material costs, labor expenses, and delivery fees.


Recently, burger and chicken franchise companies have been raising prices one after another. Lotteria increased the prices of 65 menu items by an average of 3.3% starting from the 3rd, Shinsegae Food raised the prices of No Brand Burger menu items by an average of 2.3% from the 1st, Korea McDonald's increased prices of 20 menu items by 100 to 300 won on the 20th of last month, and Burger King raised prices of some products including the Whopper by 100 won each in January.
