West Sea Coast Guard Inspects Facilities at 22 Coastal Access Control Sites

Improvements to Prevent Inconvenience in Facility Use
in Cooperation with Local Governments

The West Sea Regional Coast Guard Headquarters (Chief Lee Myungjun) announced on the 8th that, from the 1st to the 7th of this month, it inspected facilities such as notice boards and life-saving equipment at 22 restricted access points along the coastal areas of Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do, in preparation for the spring excursion season.

This inspection was conducted jointly with local governments to focus on verifying whether notice boards and safety management facilities at restricted access points such as tetrapods, rocky shores, and breakwaters are being properly communicated to the public.

Accordingly, to help visitors easily recognize and understand the notice boards at restricted access points, the existing boards will be improved to location-guidance type boards by next month. For safety management facilities in need of repair, requests for improvement have been submitted to the managing authorities to be addressed within the first half of the year.

Lee Myungjun, Chief of the West Sea Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, stated, "We will improve facilities so that the public can clearly recognize restricted access points and use the facilities without inconvenience when necessary, ensuring that everyone can stay along the coast more safely."
