Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Employees Donate 289.37 Million Won for Wildfire Relief... Governor Lee Cheolwoo Donates 10 Million Won

Gyeongbuk Province delivered a donation of 289.37 million KRW, collected by all provincial government employees, to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea on the 8th to support the recovery efforts in five cities and counties that suffered severe damage from a massive wildfire in March.


This donation was voluntarily raised by Gyeongbuk Provincial Government officials, government employees, firefighters from the Fire Headquarters and city and county fire stations, as well as executives and staff from affiliated public institutions. It is expected to provide significant help to residents in the affected areas.

Employees who attended the donation ceremony expressed their thoughts, saying, "We are very grateful to be able to help residents suffering from wildfire damage. We will continue to actively support wildfire recovery and disaster preparedness in the future."


Additionally, Governor Lee Cheolwoo also donated 10 million KRW, demonstrating his strong commitment to supporting wildfire recovery efforts.


Governor Lee emphasized, "This donation is especially meaningful because it was collected through the voluntary participation of not only general public officials at the provincial government but also firefighters, government employees, and executives and staff of affiliated public institutions, all united in one mind and purpose. We will do our utmost to provide all administrative and financial support needed for wildfire recovery, restore residents' lives, and further make Gyeongbuk a safer and happier region."


The donated funds will be used through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to support projects such as housing stability and recovery assistance for residents affected by wildfires in the five cities and counties.
