The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Bank of Korea announced on the 8th that it will hold the "2025 Monetary Policy Competition" to enhance university students' understanding of monetary policy.
This competition is designed to provide university students with a simulated experience of the monetary policy decision-making process, thereby increasing their understanding of the Bank of Korea's policies and operations.
Eligible participants are teams of four undergraduate students from the same domestic university. Joint teams from multiple universities are not allowed. Students wishing to participate should form a team and apply online through the Bank of Korea's website. The application period is from the 26th to the 28th of next month.
The preliminary round results will be announced on June 19-20. The Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Bank of Korea plans to hold the regional preliminary competition for the Gwangju, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk, and Jeju areas between July 14 and 16. If fewer than six teams advance to the preliminaries, the event may be integrated with neighboring regions.
Teams that win in the regional and national finals will receive a certificate of commendation from the Governor of the Bank of Korea and scholarships. In addition, outstanding participants will be given preferential treatment in the document screening process if they apply for entry-level positions at the Bank of Korea within the next five years.
