Visit to Ho Chi Minh City
Signing of International Exchange Agreements and Discussion on Industry-Academia Cooperation
Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan), which has joined Busan City's project to attract 30,000 international students, has officially begun its efforts to recruit international students, starting with Vietnam.
Dong-Eui University announced on the 8th that President Han Suhwan, Vice President for External Affairs Lee Imgeon, and Director of International Exchange Bae Geumgwang visited Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from March 26 to 30 to discuss ways to attract international students and to promote global industry-academia cooperation.
This visit to Vietnam by Dong-Eui University was carried out as a practical business step for Busan City's plan to attract 30,000 international students. Following last year's Busan Study Abroad Fair held in Ho Chi Minh City by Busan Global City Foundation and local universities as a follow-up measure, Dong-Eui University has established specific exchange programs and cooperation plans to implement the initiative.
During this visit, Dong-Eui University signed international exchange agreements with the University of Economics and Finance (UEF) and Open University in Ho Chi Minh City. The agreements include cooperation on the establishment of dual degree programs, joint organization of seminars and academic conferences, joint development of educational programs, exchange of information related to education and research, and the promotion of industry-academia cooperation.
The University of Economics and Finance is collaborating with the automobile manufacturer of Vingroup, Vietnam's largest private company. Moving forward, Dong-Eui University plans to promote trilateral industry-academia cooperation involving local machinery and automobile-related companies in Busan that are already engaged in industry-academia projects with the university.
Han Suhwan, President of Dong-Eui University, said, "We expect that this agreement will lead to active exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. By forming a glocal industry-academia cooperation network through partnerships with outstanding local companies, we will actively support our students' advancement onto the global stage."
