Pyeongtaek City Operates 'Resident Inspection Application System' for Facility Safety

The 'Resident Inspection Application System' is a system where residents can apply for safety inspections of facilities they deem necessary to be checked, and then responsible public officials and private experts conduct joint inspections and notify the applicants of the results.

The eligible facilities for application include small-scale, closely related living facilities such as village halls, senior citizen centers, bridges, landslide-prone areas, and old buildings that have risks of disasters or accidents. However, facilities managed by administrators, facilities under construction or involved in disputes such as lawsuits, and facilities subject to mandatory inspections under relevant laws are excluded from the application.

Applications can be submitted in person at the Eup/Myeon/Dong Administrative Welfare Centers until the 30th, and online applications are also possible through the Safe Report app or portal.

Facilities applied for will be selected as inspection targets after a first on-site survey and consultation with the Safety Management Advisory Group regarding risk and aging. Selected facilities will undergo joint public-private inspections during the intensive safety inspection period from the 14th to June 13.

A Pyeongtaek City official said, "We hope that expanding the inspection targets through residents' participation will help eliminate blind spots in safety management."
