Chairman Im Byeongtaek: "Active support for future talent"
The Siheung City Talent Development Foundation in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 8th that it will select 495 scholarship recipients in 11 fields during the first half of the year.
The Siheung City Talent Development Foundation is a foundation corporation launched in 2003 as the 'Siheung City Education Development Promotion Foundation' to discover and nurture local talent in Siheung City. It was renamed once to the 'Siheung City Education and Youth Foundation' before changing to the 'Siheung City Talent Development Foundation' in 2020. The chairman of the board is Siheung Mayor Im Byeong-taek.
The foundation will select 495 scholarship recipients in 11 fields from citizens who have resided in the area for more than one year, providing a total of 700 million KRW in scholarships.
The fields include ▲multiple children ▲Daham (North Korean defectors and multicultural families) ▲achievement ▲Siheung University ▲arts and physical education ▲outstanding talent ▲regional coexistence ▲hope, and newly this year, ▲out-of-school youth ▲and Dream Growth scholarship recipients.
Selected scholarship recipients will receive scholarships ranging from 500,000 KRW to 4 million KRW per person depending on the field. Applications are open from the 24th until the 15th of next month. Detailed information can be found on the 'Siheung City Talent Development Foundation' website.
Chairman Im said, "I hope the scholarship recipients selected this year will grow into talents leading the development of the local community," adding, "The city will actively support students, the future protagonists, so that it can be a strong pillar in the process of nurturing their dreams."
