This training was organized by BPA, which has been certified as an 'Outstanding Disaster Reduction Enterprise' by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, to provide practical training for staff on disaster reduction activity management systems for each institution.

Approximately 50 participants, including staff from BPA and the Busan Port Facility Management Center, attended the training. They learned practical content to strengthen disaster response systems, including understanding the certification system, business impact analysis for different disaster scenarios, and risk assessment methods. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Song Eunjeong from Soongsil University, a disaster reduction certification expert from the Korea Association for Disaster Reduction.

The Outstanding Disaster Reduction Enterprise Certification System is a system that issues certificates to outstanding companies by evaluating their ability to plan and execute disaster prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery using their own resources and capabilities, so that core business functions are not interrupted by various disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, and infectious diseases.

BPA received re-certification in 2024, and the certification is valid for three years from the date of issuance.

Kim Hyoseok, Head of Disaster Safety at BPA, said, "This training has become an opportunity to further strengthen the overall resilience of the port," and added, "We will continue to take the lead in creating a safe port environment by establishing an effective response system."
