Ministry of Foreign Affairs Strongly Protests Japan's Diplomatic Bluebook Repeating 'Claim to Dokdo Sovereignty'... Demands Immediate Withdrawal

Summoning of the Minister-Counselor of the Japanese Embassy in Korea

The Japanese government announced a white paper on the 8th asserting its territorial claim over Dokdo, prompting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strongly protest and demand its immediate withdrawal.

Lee Jae-woong, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated in a commentary on the same day, "The government strongly protests the Japanese government's repeated unjust territorial claims over Dokdo, which is clearly our inherent territory based on historical, geographical, and international law grounds, and urges its immediate withdrawal."

He added, "The government once again makes it clear that it will firmly respond to any provocations by Japan regarding Dokdo in the future."

In this regard, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs plans to summon Daisuke Mibae, Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Japan in Korea, to the Government Complex Seoul around 11 a.m. on the same day to convey its protest.
