Eulji University Seongnam and Uijeongbu Campuses Designated as 'Gyeonggi South and North Caregiver Training Centers'

Eulji University (President Hong Seong-hee) has been officially designated as a caregiver training center for the northern and southern regions of Gyeonggi Province.

According to Eulji University on the 8th, the Seongnam Campus of Eulji University was designated as the Gyeonggi Southern Caregiver Training Center on February 12, and the Uijeongbu Campus of Eulji University was designated as the Gyeonggi Northern Caregiver Training Center on March 26.

With this designation, both campuses will operate theoretical and practical courses necessary for obtaining caregiver qualifications and will actively contribute to training health and welfare personnel in the local community.

The curriculum includes ▲New class (8 weeks): 126 hours of theory, 114 hours of practice, 80 hours of field training ▲Qualification/license class (4 weeks): 26?32 hours of theory, 6?11 hours of practice, 8 hours of field training, after which candidates are eligible for the national exam. The qualification/license class is intended for nurses, social workers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and nursing assistants.

The number of trainees is composed of 20 to 40 people for each of the new and qualification/license classes.

An official from Eulji University stated, “As South Korea enters a 'super-aged society,' the demand for elderly care has increased, but there is a shortage of caregivers. Through this designation as a caregiver training center, we will work harder to resolve the shortage of caregivers in care institutions and to train caregivers who can provide elderly care services systematically and professionally.”
