Muan Police Station Launches Full-Scale Effort to Prevent Traffic Accidents During Spring Outing Season

Crackdown on Drunk Driving, Two-Wheeled Vehicles, and Personal Mobility Devices
Strict Response to Violations of Safety Regulations

Muan Police Station in Jeonnam (Chief: Jung Sungil) announced on the 8th that it is actively conducting enforcement and promotional activities to prevent traffic accidents, as the number of springtime outings increases and various local events, including the Doripo Canola Flower Festival in Haeje-myeon, are officially beginning.

Starting from the 7th until the 31st of next month, Muan Police will operate an intensive crackdown period on drunk driving, conducting random sobriety checks not only at night but also during daytime and early morning hours. Police forces will be intensively deployed in areas with frequent drunk driving and accident-prone zones.

In particular, until the 30th, there will also be a focused crackdown on violations involving two-wheeled vehicles and personal mobility devices (PM), strictly responding to offenses such as signal violations, riding on sidewalks, and not wearing safety helmets.

Additionally, efforts are being concentrated on preventing pedestrian traffic accidents around event venues with high foot traffic and in rural areas. Proactive traffic safety education is being provided for elderly pedestrians, and the project of attaching fluorescent reflective vests to walking aid carts, which is being expanded by the Jeonnam Police Agency's Traffic Division to all police stations in Jeonnam, is also being actively promoted.

Chief Jung Sungil stated, "As we expect an increase in traffic during the spring outing season, we will do our utmost not only in enforcement but also in preventive activities to raise traffic safety awareness among local residents and visitors," and added, "We ask for the active cooperation of all county residents."
