Twice-Weekly Flights Launched
Eastar Jet announced on the 8th that it launched its first flight on the Almaty route in Kazakhstan on the 7th, becoming the first domestic low-cost carrier (LCC) to operate this route.
The Incheon-Almaty route operates twice a week (Monday and Friday). The outbound flight departs from Incheon International Airport at 19:30 and arrives at Almaty International Airport at 22:45 local time. The return flight departs Almaty at 23:45 local time and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 09:50 the next day.
To commemorate the inaugural flight on the Almaty route, Eastar Jet held a ceremony at Incheon International Airport attended by Eastar Jet CEO Jo Jung-seok, Nurstanov, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Korea, and Chae Ye-jin, Chairperson of the Korean Global Network, among other officials.
The first flight from Almaty to Incheon at 11 p.m. local time included a group of local influencers and travel agency staff organized by the Korea Tourism Organization’s Almaty office, who arrived in Seoul. They plan to visit famous tourist sites in Seoul, develop travel courses, and promote travel to Korea among local Kazakhstani residents.
CEO Jo Jung-seok said, "Almaty, Kazakhstan is a unique travel destination, and we expect many tourists from Korea of all ages to visit in the future. We hope this will serve as a foundation for expanding economic and cultural exchanges and mutual development between the two countries."
