On the 7th, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency announced that it would provide administrative support such as special inspections of traffic safety facilities, free reissuance of driver's licenses, and reduction of fines for Uiseong-gun, Andong-si, Cheongsong-gun, Yeongyang-gun, and Yeongdeok-gun, which were affected by the wildfire that broke out in Anpyeong-myeon, Uiseong-gun on the 22nd of last month.

First, the police will conduct special inspections of traffic safety facilities, focusing on road sections in the wildfire-affected areas, and will promptly request repairs from local governments and road management authorities for any facilities that are damaged or require maintenance. Through these efforts, the police plan to ensure the safety of residents and drivers.

In addition, from the 7th of this month to May 2nd, for 26 days, the police, in cooperation with the Autonomous Police Committee, the Gyeongbuk branch of the Korea Road Traffic Authority, and the Mungyeong and Pohang Driver's License Test Centers, will operate a "mobile civil service office" and waive the reissuance fee for driver's licenses to minimize inconvenience for affected residents.

Along with this, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency has exempted fines for 1,721 vehicles caught by unmanned enforcement cameras from the 22nd to the 30th of last month, and has deferred payment for three months for 69,263 cases of fines that are either due or in arrears.

A representative from the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency stated, "We aim to provide practical assistance so that residents who have suffered significant damage from the disaster can return to their daily lives as soon as possible," and added, "We will continue to provide resident-centered, customized support in the future."
