Participated in Five Events, Won One Silver Medal Each in Four Events
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sanggeun) announced that its rowing team won four medals at the 67th National Rowing Championship held at Daedong Ecological Park in Gimhae, Gyeongnam, from the 5th to the 7th.
The six BPA rowers who participated in a total of five events won four silver medals and placed fourth in one event.
In the quadruple sculls event, Cho Sunhyeong, Kim Hayoung, Choi Sujin, and Choi Seohyun won silver medals. Riding this momentum, Cho Sunhyeong and Kim Hayoung also secured silver medals in the coxless pair event. In the lightweight double sculls, Choi Sujin and Lee Sumin won silver medals, and in the lightweight single sculls, Lee Sumin won another silver medal. Jung Minha finished fourth in the single sculls event.
BPA rowing team coach Lee Hyungki said, "Despite the cold weather in February and March, the athletes dedicated themselves to intensive winter training in Chungju and maximized their skills, which allowed us to achieve meaningful results in the first competition of the year. We will work on quickly reorganizing the team so that we can achieve good results at the 19th Hwacheon Peace Cup, which starts on April 25."
