National Innovation Party Holds Press Conference in Front of Hannam-dong Presidential Residence
"Possibility of Yoon Deleting Burner Phone Call Log Server"
"Kim Keon-hee Also Under Investigation... Must Vacate the Residence"
The National Innovation Party urged former President Yoon Seok-yeol and his wife to vacate the presidential residence, citing a high risk that they might destroy evidence related to charges of treason.
On the 7th, the National Innovation Party held a press conference in front of the presidential residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, raising their voices, saying, "Yoon Seok-yeol, a criminal defendant for treason and a civilian, must immediately vacate the presidential residence."
The National Innovation Party emphasized to former President Yoon, "A civilian who is being prosecuted and undergoing a criminal trial for treason cannot remain in the presidential residence," and urged, "You must vacate the room immediately."
They also expressed concerns that former President Yoon might destroy evidence of treason while staying at the residence. The party stated, "Inside the residence, there is a server recording call logs from burner phones used during the December 3rd treason process, including calls with military generals and collaborators of the treason," adding, "Yoon Seok-yeol, who is being prosecuted for treason and facing a criminal trial punishable only by death or life imprisonment, is highly likely to delete the records on this server."
Furthermore, they said, "Kim Geon-hee, who was effectively involved in state affairs abuse while intoxicated with presidential power, is a subject of various investigations including the Deutsche Motors stock manipulation, involvement in the Sambu Construction scandal, allegations of receiving luxury bags, and preferential route changes for the Yangpyeong Expressway," adding, "Kim Geon-hee is also highly likely to destroy evidence inside the residence."
They continued, "As long as Yoon Seok-yeol, the criminal defendant and ringleader of treason, and Kim Geon-hee, the actual mastermind behind the treason, remain in the presidential residence, the Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling cannot be completed," emphasizing, "The path to a new Republic of Korea begins with the thorough punishment of the treasonous forces including Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Geon-hee."
Finally, they pressured, "Yoon Seok-yeol, who has betrayed the trust of the people, is not a president but a civilian defendant for treason; he must immediately vacate the residence and apologize to the people."
