Key Officials Attend Ceremony to Foster Electric Vehicle Maintenance Talent
Kia announced on the 7th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the training of electric vehicle maintenance personnel in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor and AutoQ to strengthen competitiveness in the future mobility industry environment.
The signing ceremony held at Kia Osan Education Center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, was attended by key officials including Choi Jun-young, President of Kia Domestic Production, Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Employment and Labor, Moon Byung-il, Chairman of the Korea Kia AutoQ Business Association, and Ko Dong-won, Chairman of the National Kia AutoQ Association.
This MOU was signed to enhance industrial competitiveness through systematic training of specialized personnel amid the rapid transformation of the automotive industry centered on electric vehicles.
Through this agreement, Kia, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and AutoQ plan to resolve the manpower shortage in the electric vehicle maintenance sector, create quality jobs through education-employment linkage programs, and further establish close partnerships among the government, companies, and the field.
Under this agreement, Kia will be responsible for supporting electric vehicle maintenance personnel demand surveys and maintenance technology, designing training courses for maintenance personnel development, providing teaching materials, and conducting refresher training for instructors to enhance expertise.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor will oversee the overall management of the maintenance personnel training program, support operational expenses, and assist with trainee employment linkage and job stabilization. AutoQ plans to cooperate in demand surveys for maintenance personnel, expand trainee recruitment, and offer preferential hiring for trainees.
President Choi said, "Through this collaboration involving the government, companies, and the field, we will systematically nurture key talents who will lead the eco-friendly mobility era," adding, "We will continue to show interest and support in talent development to secure competitiveness in the sustainable future automotive industry."
