‘Imokase 1ho’ Chef Kim Miryeong Appointed as Dongdaemun-gu Public Relations Ambassador

Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 5th that Chef Kim Mi-ryeong, well known as the "Imokase No. 1," has been appointed as the district's public relations ambassador. The term is two years.

Chef Kim has been running "Andongjip Son Kalguksu" for over 30 years, passed down through generations at Seoul Gyeongdong Market, earning the love of many regular customers with her neat hand taste and warm personality.

She gained widespread recognition as the "National Aunt" by appearing on the cooking competition program "Black and White Chef," where she ranked 6th in the finals.

At the appointment ceremony held at the Dongdaemun-gu Spring Flower Festival site, Chef Kim said, "I am very honored to serve as the public relations ambassador for Dongdaemun-gu, which has maintained its place for a long time," and added, "I will do my best to promote the charm of Dongdaemun-gu, including traditional markets, to many people."

After the appointment ceremony, she personally toured the festival food booths, tasted the dishes, and added excitement to the festival through a special event selecting the "best restaurants."

With Chef Kim Mi-ryeong's appointment, Dongdaemun-gu's public relations ambassadors now include a total of six people: actors Yoo Dong-geun, Lee Dong-jun, Lee Jang-woo, singer Noh Ji-hoon, magician Leo, and the charming lineup is completed with the addition of the "Little Horse" Wally.
