"Paying the Price for a Wrong Decision"
Consistent Opposition to Impeachment Since the Passage of the Motion

In an interview with the British BBC, In Yo-han, a key figure of the People Power Party and a lawmaker who opposed the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, harshly criticized President Yoon's martial law.
On the 4th, BBC reported the news of former President Yoon Seok-yeol's dismissal and released an interview titled "Friends, close aides, and political advisors of Yoon Seok-yeol met by the BBC."
In the interview, Representative In recalled, "President Yoon told me not to worry, saying he could still issue administrative orders and accomplish many things," starting off his remarks.
According to Representative In, former President Yoon repeatedly said that Marxists were running the opposition party, and at one point compared the opposition party to the Chinese Communist Party. He also believed that if the opposition came to power, South Korea would turn into an authoritarian communist state and eventually go bankrupt.
He said, "President Yoon thought of martial law as a means to punish the opposition. He believed someone had to stand against them," adding, "Once President Yoon makes a decision, he does not hesitate. It is highly likely that he did not sufficiently consider such plans in advance."
Finally, he stated, "It was a wrong decision, and President Yoon is now paying the price. However, he probably believes that he acted sincerely with the national interest in mind."
Representative In Yo-han has consistently opposed the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol even after the impeachment motion was passed. During the "Walking the Path to Dismiss the Presidential Impeachment" event held last month with some members of the People Power Party, Representative In claimed, "We have endured a lot watching the opposition party's unfair actions in the National Assembly over the past eight months," and added, "They call us a rebellion, but they are the ones committing rebellion and threatening the democracy of the Republic of Korea."
