Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) announced on the 7th that it will conduct a two-week summer language training program in the United States this July to enhance students' English proficiency and provide opportunities for overseas cultural experiences.

This language program, aimed at third- and fourth-year students who are exploring career paths and preparing for employment or entrepreneurship, is the first outcome of the mutual cooperation MOU signed last October between President Kim Dongjin and University of South Alabama (President Jo Bonner).

At that time, the two universities promised various collaborations in research and education through student and faculty exchanges, including activating undergraduate and graduate student exchange programs, mutual visits among faculty, and joint research activities. They also explored new possibilities for industry-academia cooperation through various collaborations with Hyundai Motor America, located in Montgomery, Alabama.

The university has decided to cover 80% of the expenses required for this training program to enhance students' global competencies. Third- and fourth-year students wishing to participate must submit an application form, certificate of enrollment, transcript, and a self-introduction letter in Korean to the Office of International Cooperation on the 6th floor of Hosimgwan by the 11th.

Fifteen students will be finally selected through a document screening, mock TOEIC, and interview evaluation, and will depart for the language program in the United States from July 13 to 26.
