I ask all public officials to pursue responsible administration to minimize confusion in city affairs and social conflict, and to achieve stability and unity among citizens.”
He also mentioned the Constitutional Court’s decision to uphold the president’s impeachment, emphasizing the need for calm responses and administrative continuity among public officials in preparation for the potential confusion surrounding the early presidential election.
Mayor Lee said, “With growing tension across civil society due to political instability, city administration must adhere even more strictly to principles and calmly safeguard public livelihood. All public officials should be thoroughly prepared in advance to ensure the continuity of citizens’ daily lives and administrative operations is not disrupted.”
In particular, he instructed that in anticipation of possible delays in various approval processes during the central government’s organizational restructuring, the schedules for projects linked to national funding and public works should be checked in advance, and early-executable projects should be expedited as part of proactive measures.

He emphasized strict adherence to election-related guidelines and called for preemptively preventing any actions that could be misunderstood as political statements or election interference.
He further requested that Pohang City’s major national policy tasks be organized in line with the presidential election period, and that consultations with the central government and National Assembly members continue to ensure the city’s core projects proceed without disruption, even during a change of administration.
Additionally, he identified alleviating citizens’ anxiety and stabilizing the local economy as key priorities, urging special attention to be paid to providing accurate information and ensuring that support projects for vulnerable groups and small business owners proceed without setbacks.
During the meeting, Mayor Lee also expressed gratitude to the staff for their efforts in wildfire prevention and asked for continued vigilance until the end. He also called for proactive measures against future natural disasters such as typhoons and heavy rains.
