Daejeon City Announces Public Call for Citizen Proposals for 2026 Participatory Budget

Daejeon City announced that it will hold a public call for citizen proposals for the 2026 participatory budgeting from the 7th to May 26th.

Not only Daejeon citizens but also employees of businesses located in Daejeon, members of non-profit organizations, and students of schools in the city are eligible to participate.

The total project budget is 5 billion KRW, the same as last year, and the call targets projects that address metropolitan issues or benefit citizens across two or more districts.

Proposals can be submitted in all areas of city administration, including economy, jobs, community, youth, women, welfare, culture and tourism, sports, environment, transportation, housing, urban regeneration, safety, and administration.

Applications can be submitted via the Daejeon City participatory budgeting website, as well as by email, fax, mail, or in person.

The submitted proposals will undergo departmental review and evaluation, citizen voting, and a citizens' assembly before final selection. The selected projects will be included in the 2026 budget plan after approval by the Daejeon City Council.
