The Gwangju Medical Association (President Choi Jungseop) announced on the 6th that it has launched relief activities at the site of the Myanmar earthquake disaster in cooperation with the Asia Hope Tree Association.


This relief effort includes participation from Seo Jeongseong, Vice President of the Korean Medical Association, the Vice President of the Myanmar Medical Association, the President of the Mandalay Medical Association, and the President of the Orthopedic Association. They are conducting relief activities for disaster victims in Mandalay, the epicenter.


The Gwangju Medical Association sent 10 million KRW in emergency relief funds. Although the acute phase has passed, more than 1,000 displaced people are gathered in areas suffering from extreme heat exceeding 40 degrees Celsius and hygiene issues. Ongoing support is being provided due to problems such as skin diseases, diarrhea, nutritional issues, and chronic patients unable to access medication.
