The Department of Architecture at Honam University (Head of Department Park Jonghyun) announced on the 6th that it recently held the senior-junior employment mentoring program "Choegang Sunbae," where graduates share practical experience and job-seeking know-how with their juniors.
This event took place in a university classroom at Honam University and was open to students of all years. The graduates who participated as mentors were Assistant Manager Ko Yuchan (Class of 2017) from ISP Architects Co., Ltd. and Assistant Manager Bae Jaehwi from Gangcheon Architects Co., Ltd. They provided concrete and realistic advice on topics such as ▲practical trends in the architectural design industry ▲tips for preparing portfolios and self-introduction letters ▲interview preparation and the mindset of new employees.
Ko Yuchan advised, "Skills are not everything; sometimes, small acts of diligence and attitude can lead to greater opportunities. I hope you believe in yourselves and continue to move forward steadily." Bae Jaehwi said, "The worries and trial-and-error you experience now will someday become your own strengths. Don't be afraid and take on various challenges."
Professor Park Jonghyun, Head of the Department of Architecture, said, "It was very moving to see graduates stepping up for their juniors," and added, "Our department will continue to strengthen practical programs and career support activities based on the strong bonds between seniors and juniors, so that students can confidently stand on their own in society."
Professor Oh Sangmok also stated, "I believe this program has deepened the bond between seniors and juniors," and added, "We will continue to provide various opportunities that connect practical work and career paths, so that students can design their own futures."
