LG Uplus announced on the 6th that it will participate as a core technology partner in the '2025 Glocal University 30' project with Baekseok University to support digital innovation.
Through this collaboration, LG Uplus plans to build a dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) platform for Baekseok University. The platform will integrate LG AI Research Institute's large-scale language model 'Exaone' with its own lightweight models 'ixi-RAG' (retrieval-augmented generation AI) and 'PortertuM'. This platform is designed to support AI services necessary for academic operations, educational administration, and regional industry linkage.
Additionally, an 'AI Work Agent' that can be utilized in actual university operations is being developed. It includes AI academic management tailored to student tendencies, assistance in planning and operating university festivals and events, and HACCP-based AI for food safety management. The scope of application is expected to expand to cover overall education and administration in the future.
Meanwhile, Theborn Korea, which is developing regionally focused models and technologies to advance store operations in the food service and cultural content sectors, is also participating in this project.
Kwon Yong-hyun, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Uplus Enterprise Division, stated, "We will continue to provide top-level AI platforms and infrastructure centered on challenges and changes, contributing to the development of local talent and balanced regional growth."
