On the 6th, at the Busan Dongnae Benest (par 72, 6,579 yards), the opening domestic event of the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship (total prize money 1.2 billion KRW) concluded its 4th round with Lee shooting 2-under 70 to complete a one-stroke come-from-behind victory (12-under 276). This marked her 7th career win, her first in 10 months since the Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women’s Open last June, earning a winner’s prize of 216 million KRW. Following her victory as the inaugural champion in 2023, this is her second win at this tournament.
Starting one stroke behind in second place, Lee carded one eagle, three birdies, and three bogeys. She was tied for the lead with Hong Jeong-min through the 17th hole without reducing her score, but secured the win by sinking an eagle putt on the 18th hole (par 5). This victory erased the disappointment of losing to Hong Jeong-min in the 2022 Doosan Match Play Championship final. Lee said with a smile, "I am honored to win the domestic season opener," and added, "The eagle on the last hole went in luckily." She also shared, "I have been taking misutgaru (a traditional Korean grain powder drink) morning and evening and training hard to improve my stamina, which has increased my driving distance," expressing confidence that she will strive for four wins this season.
Hong Jeong-min, who hoped for her second career win three years after the 2022 Doosan Match Play Championship in May, bowed her head to Lee Ye-won’s inspired putting. Her runner-up prize (11-under 277) was 132 million KRW. An Song-i finished third (9-under 279), Jung Ji-hyo fourth (8-under 280), and Lee Dong-eun and Ji Han-sol tied for fifth (7-under 281), all performing well. Park Bo-gyeom, who won the season opener Blue Canyon Ladies Championship, tied for 14th (2-under 286), and Shin Ji-ae, who achieved 60 consecutive cuts made on the KLPGA Tour, tied for 23rd (even par 288).
