Although the opening ceremony for the Homiban-do canola flower field, originally planned for the 5th and 6th, was canceled due to a recent wildfire in the nearby area, many visitors still came during this period to appreciate the beauty of the canola flower field.

During this time, various hands-on events using canola flowers and booths promoting and selling local agricultural products were operated, offering visitors plenty of things to enjoy and eat.

The agricultural product promotion and sales booths created a lively market atmosphere for local merchants and seniors, contributing to revitalizing the local economy. Unique foods and products made from landscape crops were also introduced.

In particular, for the first time in Pohang, reusable containers were introduced at the event, and an eye-catching experience where a robot poured craft beer made from Homigot barley attracted visitors who enjoyed tasting the beer.

Within the canola flower complex, unique character dolls and props were placed, receiving positive responses from visitors. The site has also gained popularity as a photo spot for social media, increasing visitor satisfaction.

Mayor Lee Kangdeok said, "Homiban-do is gaining popularity not only for its beautiful canola flower fields but also as a coastal road driving course," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that tourists visiting the canola flower fields can enjoy them in a safe and pleasant environment."

The Homiban-do canola flower field, along with nearby tourist attractions such as Homigot Square and Guryongpo Japanese House Street, attracts many visitors every spring, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

The Homiban-do Landscape Agricultural Complex, which began development in 2018, will offer a variety of sights this year, including 495,000 square meters of canola flowers, colored barley, buckwheat flowers, and sunflowers. The area is planned to be expanded to 100 hectares (990,000 square meters) in the future.

The canola flower field will be open until the 20th, after which buckwheat cultivation will begin.
