Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 6th that it will continue to promote the ‘Public Late-Night Pharmacy’ project this year so that residents can purchase medicines without inconvenience even at night or on holidays.
The Public Late-Night Pharmacy operates late hours not only on weekdays but also on weekends and public holidays, providing great help to residents who need medicine due to sudden pain or illness.
The currently designated Public Late-Night Pharmacy in Yongsan-gu is ‘Subok Pharmacy’ (12 Saechang-ro 12-gil, Dowon-dong, Yongsan-gu), which operates year-round from 10 PM every night until 1 AM the next day. It offers not only over-the-counter medicine purchases but also prescription dispensing.
As of last year, the average monthly sales at the Public Late-Night Pharmacy were 487 transactions, maintaining over 480 transactions per month from 2022 to 2024, indicating a continuous demand for medicines during nighttime hours.
The most sold medicines were gastrointestinal drugs (25%, 1,520 cases), respiratory disease drugs (25%, 1,516 cases), and antipyretics, analgesics, and anti-inflammatory drugs (22%, 1,333 cases), mostly for emergency treatment of common illnesses.
