On the previous day, Assemblyman Yang posted on his Facebook page, stating, "The Constitutional Court has made a resolute decision regarding the illegal martial law coup of December 3, which undermined constitutional order," and added, "I respect the unanimous 8-0 decision to dismiss President Yoon Seokyeol."
He continued, "This is a stern judgment that makes clear such acts of seizing constitutional institutions and trampling on democracy must never happen again," and expressed, "I sincerely thank the citizens who stood together in the streets and public squares to defend democracy and the Constitution."
Assemblyman Yang also pointed out that the prolonged impeachment crisis has dealt a severe blow to people's livelihoods and the economy. He said, "During this period, our society has been shaken by division and conflict, and the economy has faced a crisis," adding, "The people have endured amid domestic recession, a high exchange rate, a trade crisis, and even large-scale wildfires." He further stated, "Now is the time to restore constitutional order and normalize the nation," and pledged, "The National Assembly will do its part for national unity and the stability of people's livelihoods, so that Korea can once again move forward with hope."
At the end of his message, Assemblyman Yang wrote, "Dear citizens, When Life Gives You Tangerines! (Thank you very much for your hard work)," using a phrase in the Jeju dialect to express solidarity with those who have stood together in the streets and public squares.
