[Impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeol] If the early presidential election is held in 'late May to early June'... Seoul elementary, middle, and high schools' vacation likely to be delayed by one day

With the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, an early presidential election is expected to be held as early as the end of May or by early June at the latest. Accordingly, the academic schedules of elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul are also expected to be adjusted.

According to Yonhap News and the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education on the 5th, if the "end of May to early June" presidential election is held, each school plans to adjust the academic schedule by modifying discretionary holidays or postponing the vacation by one day. Since the election day is designated as a national holiday and schools will be closed, the total number of school days originally planned for students will be reduced by one day. The specific adjustment method will be decided at the discretion of each school principal.

In addition, a considerable number of schools are expected to be used as polling stations for this early election. However, classes will operate normally until the day before the election.

A Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education official stated, "After students leave school the day before the election, election commission staff will come to set up the polling stations," and added, "Except for the election day itself, there will be no disruption to classes."

The early election date resulting from the impeachment of former President Yoon is being discussed as May 26 or 27, or June 2 or 3. The political circle expects June 3 to be the most likely date.
