Changwon City Council Chairman Son Taehwa: "Confusion Due to Absence of Mayor and Vacancy of President, Hope for Swift Return to Stability"

Son Taehwa, Chairman of the Changwon Special City Council in Gyeongnam, said on the 4th, "I hope the local community, which has been thrown into confusion by the impeachment of President Yoon Sukyeol and the recent court ruling that nullified the election of Mayor Hong Nampyo of Changwon, will quickly regain stability."

Chairman Son emphasized, in relation to the Supreme Court's guilty verdict for Mayor Hong on the 3rd and the Constitutional Court's decision to uphold the impeachment on this day, "Efforts are needed to calm division and conflict and to achieve social integration going forward."

He added, "Changwon City Council will make the recovery of the local economy its top priority and will do its utmost for regional development in close cooperation with Changwon City officials."

He also requested, "I ask for stable city administration under the acting authority of First Vice Mayor Jang Geumyong," and urged, "Please ensure that public officials faithfully fulfill their duties and roles so that various public services to citizens are not disrupted."
