Former President Yoon Seok-yeol, who was dismissed on the 4th following the Constitutional Court's acceptance of the impeachment motion, reportedly told the People Power Party leadership, "Since there is not much time left, I hope the party will focus on preparing well for the presidential election and achieve victory."
People Power Party Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kwon Young-se and Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong visited the presidential residence in Hannam-dong for 30 minutes starting at 5 p.m. that day, according to a written briefing by party chief spokesperson Shin Dong-wook.
Spokesperson Shin explained, "They visited the residence to console (former President Yoon)."
Former President Yoon expressed, "I am grateful to the party and leadership who did their best," and "I feel both sorry and thankful to the people and supporters who have encouraged me. Although I am leaving like this, I hope the country prospers," spokesperson Shin conveyed.
The party leadership conveyed to former President Yoon, "Thank you for your hard work so far. We regret that this outcome has occurred."
Spokesperson Shin and Secretary-General Kang Myung-gu of the Emergency Response Committee were also present at the meeting.
