Park Ji-won, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, expressed his joy over the Constitutional Court's decision to remove President Yoon Suk-yeol from office, calling it a victory for the people and democracy.
Attending a rally held at Cheolma Square in Jindo, Jeonnam on the 4th, Park stated in his speech, "The great people have won. Democracy and justice have won. Jindo, Haenam, Wando, we have won," and emphasized, "From today, we must carry out a grand national reform for a new Republic of Korea. Never again should someone like Yoon Suk-yeol become the president of Korea."
Approximately 1,500 Democratic Party members and local residents from Haenam, Wando, and Jindo attended the rally, celebrating the news of President Yoon Suk-yeol's removal with cheers and congratulating each other on the victory.
Park stressed, "We must also prevent the nation's economy, diplomacy, and security from being devastated by a single president ever again," adding, "We must build the kind of democracy that the late President Kim Dae-jung created together with the people of Jindo, Haenam, and Wando."
He continued, "From today, let us unite the candles of impeachment into a single torch and raise it high for grand national reform. Let Jindo, Haenam, and Wando take the lead, and let us move forward together with all the people," raising his voice, "No matter who becomes president, the new government to be inaugurated in two months must be a reform government that completes the grand national reform."
