Uiseong County Allocates 80 Billion KRW in Emergency Supplementary Budget for Wildfire Recovery

Through Swift Recovery Support

Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province, has allocated an emergency supplementary budget of 80 billion KRW to support the recovery from the large-scale wildfire that occurred on March 22.

On the 4th, the county announced that it had submitted a 'one-point' supplementary budget proposal to the Uiseong County Council to enable swift recovery and restore daily life for residents.

This supplementary budget includes: ▲ Disaster relief funds for all residents of North Gyeongsang Province, providing 300,000 KRW per person (14.5 billion KRW) ▲ Living stabilization support for wildfire-affected residents in the fields of housing, agriculture, livestock, forestry, and small businesses ▲ Relief and installation of temporary prefabricated housing for displaced residents (11.8 billion KRW).

Additionally, it covers: ▲ Emergency restoration support for agricultural and livestock infrastructure (9.8 billion KRW) ▲ Demolition of damaged houses and disposal of debris and waste (24.2 billion KRW) ▲ Restoration of public facilities in wildfire-affected areas (11.6 billion KRW).

Uiseong County plans to secure additional budgets through further supplementary appropriations to prevent secondary damage and ensure permanent restoration in wildfire-affected areas.

Kim Jusu, governor of Uiseong County, stated, "Residents have suffered great damage due to this unprecedented large-scale wildfire," and added, "We will mobilize all available resources and manpower to ensure swift recovery and the prompt return of daily life for our residents."

Meanwhile, the emergency support budget proposal for wildfire damage is scheduled to be finalized on the 7th after deliberation by the Uiseong County Council.
