Kim Yong-hyun's Prison Letter "Again Yoon, Again President... Let's Fight More" [Yoon Seok-yeol Dismissal]

Former Minister Kim Releases Handwritten Letter Through Legal Team
"A Stronger 'Judgment of the People' Remains Beyond the Judgment of the Law"

The Constitutional Court dismissed former President Yoon Seok-yeol, while former Minister of National Defense Kim Yong-hyun issued a message from prison.

On the 4th, Kim's legal team released a handwritten letter from him. In the letter, Kim stated, "Again, Republic of Korea! Again, Yoon Seok-yeol! Again, President! Let us unite even more and fight to the end to protect the free Republic of Korea."

Kim said, "It did not go as we hoped," adding, "I cannot hide my immense anger and disappointment. But this is not the end, it is the beginning." He then raised his voice with the phrase "RESET KOREA, YOON AGAIN!" and said, "We have nowhere left to retreat. Beyond the judgment of the 'law,' a stronger 'judgment of the people' remains. Let us look only forward and fight even more vigorously for the future of our descendants."

Earlier, the Constitutional Court unanimously dismissed former President Yoon at 11:22 a.m. at the Grand Bench of the Constitutional Court in Jongno-gu, Seoul. This came 122 days after Yoon declared the emergency martial law on December 3, and 111 days after the impeachment motion was filed on December 14 last year.

The court stated, "The respondent (former President Yoon) mobilized military and police forces to damage constitutional institutions such as the National Assembly and violated the basic human rights of the people, thereby neglecting the duty to uphold the Constitution," and added, "The constitutional benefit gained by dismissing the respondent overwhelmingly outweighs the national loss caused by the dismissal."

Meanwhile, former Minister Kim is currently detained and indicted on charges of rebellion. He was also charged with abuse of authority for forcing military and police personnel to perform unauthorized duties and obstructing the exercise of rights by members of the National Assembly. From prison, Kim distributed rice cakes to supporters of former President Yoon and delivered several prison letters.

On the 29th of last month, Kim's team distributed "Yonghyun hyung cheering rice cakes" to supporters of President Yoon who attended the "Free Talk Show" held by "Youth of the Republic of Korea Opposing Impeachment" in Sinchon, Seoul. The rice cakes bore Kim's name along with the phrase, "Protecting the President is protecting the free Republic of Korea. Our future, youth fighting!"

On the same day, at an anti-impeachment rally led by the Liberty Unification Party and others, Kim's lawyer took the stage to reveal "Kim Yong-hyun's prison letter." In the letter, Kim asserted, "We must fight to the end against the power created by pro-North and traitorous groups to protect freedom," and "Justice that does not act is not justice. Let us unite our strength and fight vigorously to the end."

Kim repeatedly requested cancellation of his detention to be tried in a non-custodial state, but the court did not accept the request.
